Information on our Members’ Categories
The members of the Association are divided into three categories:
(a) Regular Members (Certified Management Consultant – CMC)
(b) Associate Members
(c) Student Members
A. Regular Members
1. The following may be registered as a Regular Member of the Association:
(i) A natural person who:
(a) demonstrably provides business consulting services; and
(b) holds at least a recognized university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) or is a member of a professional body; and
(c) has at least five (5) years of prior experience in the field of consulting services or, in the case of holding a Master’s degree, at least three (3) years of such experience; and
(d) has successfully passed the evaluation provided by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and has obtained the title of Certified Management Consultant (CMC); and
(e) whose application for membership has been approved by a simple majority of the members of the Association’s Board of Directors.
(ii) A legal person (entity) which:
(a) demonstrably provides business consulting services; and
(b) is represented by an individual who has at least five (5) years of prior experience in the field of consulting services; and
(c) whose representative holds at least a recognized university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) or is a member of a professional body; and
(d) whose representative has successfully passed the evaluation provided by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and has obtained the title of Certified Management Consultant (CMC); and
(e) whose application for membership has been approved by a simple majority of the members of the Association’s Board of Directors.
2. Applications for registration as a Regular Member shall be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors of the Association and shall be accompanied by documents evidencing compliance with the requirements outlined in subparagraph 1 above, as well as the prescribed registration fee.
3. In the case of a legal person, the application must name the individual who will act as its representative and must be accompanied by a copy of the resolution of the legal entity’s Board of Directors authorizing the named individual to act as its representative.
It is understood that a natural person who is a member of the Association may also act as the representative of a legal person that is a member of the Association, provided that each natural person may represent only one legal person within the Association.
4. Under no circumstances shall persons be admitted as members if they have been convicted of any form of abuse in the context of involvement in the operation of a non-profit organization or of any offence involving dishonesty or moral turpitude.
5. Membership is strictly personal, non-transferable, and non-inheritable.
6. The presence of members is established by the completion and signing of an attendance form. These forms may be requested by the Registrar in order to verify the validity of decisions made by the General Assembly.
7. Provided they are in good standing with their financial obligations to the Association, Regular Members have the following rights:
(i) Natural person:
(a) the right to vote at the Regular and Extraordinary General Meetings of the Association;
(b) the right to be elected to any office of the Association.
(ii) Legal person:
- the right to vote at the Regular and Extraordinary General Meetings of the Association.
B. Associate Members
1. A person may be registered as an Associate Member of the Association if:
(a) they are a natural person holding at least a recognized university degree (Bachelor’s Degree) or are a member of a professional body; and
(b) they have at least three (3) years of prior experience in a professional field recognized by the Board; and
(c) they have not yet undergone the evaluation but intend to be evaluated and successfully complete the assessment as provided by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) in order to obtain the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation; and
(d) their application for membership has been approved by a simple majority of the members of the Association’s Board of Directors.
2. An application for registration as an Associate Member shall be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors of the Association and shall be accompanied by documents evidencing compliance with the requirements set out in paragraph 1 above, as well as the prescribed registration fee.
C. Student Members
A Student Member can complete the general CICMC membership form, selecting “Student” in the Membership Level section. Required are:
- Full personal and contact information.
- Proof of current full-time student status (e.g. student ID).
- Annual student membership fee €50.
- Declaration of compliance with CICMC’s Code of Conduct and undertaking ethics training.
- No consulting assignments or client references are required for Student status.
